the last day

the last school day of the year, a day filled with happiness, reflection, thanksgiving, appreciation and many others. i saw some cry, some rejoice, some embrace, some laugh, some who were indifferent. however i think every one of us definately would have something to look back at and smile with content. personally, it's been a wonderful year, every single one of my classmates were ever so supportive and i think after these two years of knowing each other, i can say that 204 has become a much bonded class. i hope to see as many of you in the same class as me in 2009, but if not, i'd still remember you all.

the day started out with reflections, giving thanks to our classmates, teachers or to whoever we wanted to, by writing them down on slips of coloured paper and then passing them to the respective persons. sorry if i didnt manage to write one for EVERYONE, cos there wasn't much time and we all had to leave for thanksgiving assembly.

Mr tan called me to a side and told me to search for kevin and bring him here as well. I knew it was the day they were going to announce the new junior josephian to the level, so i had some sort of anxiety as well as satisfaction. i went there with the mentality of "whoever wins this, i'd be happy for them anyhow". It's really true, kevin has been a really great friend and squadmate of mine in these 2 years. Eventually, mr tan brought us two aside and told us the verdict. It was me, but no matter, i honestly would give kevin a half of it if i could. We've seen each other in cca, kindred's and many other events, and to kevin - cheers! there's always the other award which the other jj nominees and us would give a run for its money in two years time!

after all the congratulations, all the handshakes, and the photos, it was back to class for the final "circle time" we'd ever have. it has always been something about our class where at the end of every term we could sit in a circle and reflect about the term. Today's one was just really meaningful, even though mrs vastel did away with the affirmations (in case it got too emotional), we listened to a song by Bert and Ernie from seasame street, and it was about remembering what we've done with our friends, the happy times, the not so happy times and everything inbetween.

we also wished cheng yang farewell, who's on his way to njc next year D: ahh cheng, why'd you go :P remember to remember us xD and you'd always be welcome here!

after all of that, it rovick talked to me after school, and shown some light on this position as jj "its a process, not a position" was one of the things i recalled. alot of things would be expected from me as well, and it'll definately be pressurizing etc, but im sure with the help of people around me, i'd be fine =)

to everyone around me, to those who know me, to my good friends - a sincere thanks from my heart.
